“Labor of Love” surprises Taylor Farms
YUMA, Ariz. – A local program that gives thanks to the farming community in Yuma surprised Taylor Farms Thursday morning, both in the Gila Valley and Somerton.
According to Kristan Sheppeard, “Labor of Love” provided burritos from Chile Pepper and gift bags filled with gift cards and cards from Taylor Farms.
The Taylor Farms leadership team from Salinas also came to Yuma to show their sincere appreciation to their teams.
The goal of the Yuma Fresh Vegetable’s program, Labor of Love, is to show appreciation to those who work in our fields.
Labor of Love started in Yuma, Ariz. and has now debuted in the Salinas Valley. It includes breakfast on the farm for farm crews, random acts of kindness throughout the season, stories of workers through social media and media coverage, featured worker stories on the Labor of Love web site and community involvement.
